Magazine Column

I really enjoyed this article—it gave a clear, down-to-earth look at how a 12-column grid can make magazine layouts more organized and flexible. I was surprised to learn that the early issues were made by hand with scissors and glue! The shift to digital and eventually to a 12-column system shows how design tools can evolve while still leaving room for creativity. It’s cool how something so technical can actually make a layout feel more natural and easy to read. Looking forward to seeing how the grid works in a kids’ magazine in the next post.
